E36 is the worst car to remove the starter on. Take off intake manifold, or pull down tranny...the choice is yours.
Tranny removal will make the starter job itself more easy, as the whole starter removal process is like five min. total. If you go the manifold route, make damned sure the battery is disconnected.....cable to starter is hot, and tools grounding it will give you a good suprise

(hopefully the wrench isnt welded to the chassis, and the battery overheats.....BOOM! worst case scenario tho......)
The stealer will give you a good ole' fashioned ass raiping, try to find an independant shop if you go that route.
Not sure what bargain starter you goin for, the link says "your cart is empty"....
