| I dont see how rocking would cause any harm, unless you up against something and rocking would make you bash it over and over. Offroading rockings extremely effective.

| only thing I can think of is that the 97+ model cars that came with traction control have something in the owners manual about never turning it off; except when trying to maneuver out of a low grip situation like a snow bank. Of course I have it off every weekend. ![]()

| No it's fine. I had to do it once and I had summer tires on mind you in about 6 inches of the powdery white stuff. One might ask why I was driving in the snow with summer tires but I think we all know what I was doing . Anyways it was easy to get out and I wouldn't worry about damaging the transmission because with the BMW automatics its not like you can switch from drive to reverse unless it's safe to do so.
