| What's the Best M-Car Ever Created?? Well, I just read the latest issue of EVO magazine in which they had a massive M-Car Comparison to put the new M3 into perspective. It was between 13 M-Cars. I found the results to be a bit surprising and also revealing. After rigorous testing they concluded that the best M-Car ever created was in fact the e30 M3!! They said they feared it would feel underpowered and gutless in comparison to the newer cars but in the end they found it to be the best M-Car ever produced!! That is pretty amazing but it also explains why a really nice e30 M3 is pretty much the same price as an e46 M3. Thier results were: #1 e30 M3 #2 e46 M3 #3 e39 M5 #4 e92 M3 #5 M1. They didn't even care for the e36 M3 at all and said the newest M5 and M6 were bloated powerhouse missles that didn't even make it to the 2nd round of competition. What do you guys think of these results? You think EVO is totally full of crap or completely accurate? This should be a good debate.

| I will start this off by saying that my personal favorite M-Car is the e46 M3. I think it has a perfect balance of looks, luxury and performance and it's the car that I am saving up for. For me it's gotta be a laguna seca blue convertible with hard top. Some Day it will be mine. I think the e30 M3 probably is the best drivers car of the bunch but it's styling is a bit outdated and its luxury is severly lacking so I give it 2nd place. Coincadentally I have never had any interest in owning an e36 M3. I have always wanted and e46 and e30. I also feel that the newest M-Cars are bloating power houses that are not necessarily driver oriented anymore. So I guess I agree with EVO for the most part.

| i can see why they say it is but let's be honest...you really can't compare any of them together! pointless comparison but the best bang for your buck is easily an e36 M but the best car BMW has ever produced and ever will unless they make some serious changes back to agressive race car enthusiast style cars will be the e46 M!! ::airik:: |

| ^ i agree, its the first M in the 3series and the pumped guards and aggresive shape just makes it look like a real race car. The E36 did succeed it well though, love the E36 M3 but E30 takes it.

| I choose the e39 M5 for some very basic reasons. The first e39 M5 to roll off the production lines was an instant hit in every sense of the word, but for some different reasons. The V8 used in the car was absolutely an amazing motor and one of the most technologically advanced ones at the time and above all it was placed in a saloon, not a supercar. The level of development and success it had brought the M division to a whole other level. The recent M3 and M5 simply take those steps initially walked by the e39 M5 a whole lot further. The e30 M3 is a revolution, but the power handicap is not easily forgotten.

| yeah but its the image and the sense of it that makes up for that!
