Best at what?

I have a favorite for each situation, E30 M3 for the pure drivers perspective, E46 for the comfort factor, E36 slots in right between them.

For me, E30 M3 with a turbo'd S50 would do just nicely.

e30 m3 with a turbo s54 :P thats more of a comprimise... I'd have to go with the e46. im thinking of not extreme modding my e36 and instead savin up for an e46 m3 when the price drops more(no extreme mods?? that wont happen ). e30 m3 does appeal though just that with suspension all dont properly on an e30 compared to e36 m3 ive heard that the e36 is alot more desireable... wheres the 3.0csl batmobile?? i know its not in the magazine but i think that and the m635 and such should be in here!

Well if you are going to go down that path; a lot of people might argue that the 2002tii should be in here too... :P

The E30 M3 was a great car!!!!! BUT WHY WAS THE 2001-02 E36/7 M-Coupe over looked!!!!! There is not even a BMW that comes close to the M-Coupe. The shape of its SEXY BODY, Its got more Curves then MOST WOMEN in this WORLD!!!!! Also the 01-02 E36/7 M-Coupe came with the BEST MOTOR IN THE WORLD S54 Engine... THAT CAME WITH A KILLING 315Hp STOCK!!!!! Only because the they wanted something to separate the Family Man, From the (F-this Sports Cars should only have 2 seats) MEN. The 01-02 M-Coupe IS faster then the E36 and E46 M3...Besides the M5 it was the fasted Production M car up until 2005!!!!!!!....NOW WHY isn’t the 01-02 M-COUP INCLUDED!!!!! But yet its later model the Z4 M-Coupe with 330Hp is in that still isn’t faster then the 01-02 M-Coupe.....Riddle me that BATMAN!!!!!

I kept the list at the 10 most well known and popular M-Cars. Unfortunately it's not possible to include every model. So, I just took them right off what the magazine started with. There are alot of obscure flash in the pan M-Cars out there that could have been included that im sure would have gotten a few votes but I kept it down to 10. Sorry guys.

I can't help but notice that there have been ALOT of votes for the e36 M3. The magazine i read didn't even care for it compared to the other M-Cars so I am just curious. Can you guys shed some light to me as to why you voted for it? Are you basing it on value for money? Because im sure it is the best since it's the cheapest. Or do you actually think its a better machine than the others?

most magazines dont know thier ass from a hole in the ground, i think the ones on here that voted the e36 m3 good are the ones that look to what racers that have raced the e36 M3 thought, and gave it a lot of praise. and its not cheap. try to get a euro e36M3 into america. i was gonna get a 94 m3 from canada and it was about 45k.price is relative though. e36M3 has been rated one of the 10 best handling cars in america in its day.evo sucks by the way. get roundel, european car, performancebmw or grassroots motorsports.

The e36 M3 is the cheapest of all the models if you look anywhere. Of course a euro spec car is going to be extremely expensive here... It's not supposed to be here hence the price tag. What do you think a euro e46 CSL would be in the USA? Prolly like a $120K. So, you would argue that the e36 M3 actually handles better than an e46 M3 or e30 M3? I'm just trying to make sense of why EVO didn't care for the e36 M3 but everyone on here seems to like it. Also, it is in fact the cheapest so that would make sense that it is not sought after as much or not as good as the other M3s. But then again there are more factors in the price tag of a vehicle besides its abilities.

Im not surprised at all. TThe only ///M car (besides the ///M1) that was a primarily a race car that had to be changed for the street. Not the other way around, like all other ///M cars. E36 ///M3 is probably the weakest of all ///M cars. Still a great car though, and reliable.

Can you say "the most successful touring car of all time??" I may be biased though (see sig)

Exactly. And which ///M6 is he talking about? Hopefully the E24. Oh, and an E30 ///M3 without the S14 isnt an E30 ///M3, it defeats the whole purpose of what makes the E30 version universally known as ther best ///M car. You add weight to the front end especially in front the the front axles and its not the same. Especially when were talking forced induction. One more thing to whoever voted or is going to vote, it says OF ALL TIME! Not the one you own and not the one thats the newest!! The 1st ///M coupe is a GREAT car thats also not on the list.
