2.8 swap...need input

Ok i have as i mentioned before an 87 325e, i now blew up the 2.7 that i put so much damn work into. And i was wonderin if it is a better idea to swap in a 2.8 instead of rebuilding the eta, now the eta made over 300hp to the rear wheels when i was done. but is the 2.8 a better motor?...and how ahrd would the swap be??

You had an eta makin 300? WTF is with that? FI? 2.8: E34 oil pan, OBD I hareness and a 413 DME, E36 front subframe, E36 tranny, driveshaft and sum other little crap. It's documented everywhere. Is it a stronger motor? It ain't gonna make 300 with FI... or $30k.

Ok..here we go, .40 over Lightweight pistons, copper rings, 524td crank, 2.5i head ported, polished, 3 way valve job, titanium connecting rods (H beam, custom) , lightweight pushrods, extrude honed intake, acid dipped block, 8 mill wires, head and block decked to allow pistons to fire closer to head, 325i fuel injectors, adjustable fuel pressure reg., custom ground cam(did that one myself after many many many fudge ups) custom built master computer from VSMotor, Custom underdrive pulleys, 3 inch piping into flowmaster 60's, headers from IE true duals come out on both sides in front of back tires, billet rocker arms, titanium springs, that was pretty much all the major stuff. Took me longer then i would have liked but now the Eta is blown up....might do a V10 swap now. But if you would like to do all this to your Eta its going to be fun, i know it was a pain in my arse. So really in essence after i was all done it wasnt remotely an Eta

Hey ive seen M5 V10 in an E30 before, im sure i can do it. Just the time and money issue, but thats not a problem if i save enough, and yea if you want to do the "i" head swap, have fun, that alone makes decent numbers, and its a whole new car with just the head and crank, but add in a bunch more and you got a power house. How i blew it up was racin my buddys supercharged 91 firebird. I beat him 5 times up and down my road but he wanted to keep goin. 6th time was a charm, melted the rings to a soup in the grooves, broke my cam in half (yea i know, hard to believe", spun out all my mains..it was just an ABSOLUTE disaster. But when ya start anything on the Eta let me know if ya got questions. email is eight.crusher@yahoo.com
