| I have the 995 good luck so far, might look at the 955 or 940- 199.65, 169.95- Might be able to find good price on ebay. Might find the 995 for 200.

Just let a rabbit pass you; make sure they drive an automatic and are generally not that great a driver; and keep back ~600 yards... Their brake lights will be a better warning system than any radar detector you can buy.

I have always heard this about radar detectors... if they are cheap and offer the "we'll pay your speeding ticket" deal... the detector is junk. They are so cheaply made that the profit margins that they have on them can easily pay the speeding tickets.

| You should be safe with the V1. Here in VA it's not the best thought because they have came out with newer technology that can even detect the V1's. But... on the other hand... the distance at which the V1 will detect radar is far enough so that you can turn it off and have nothing to worry about when you get to the cop. Are they illegal where you are? VA is the only state I believe that they are illegal in. If they aren't illegal, you don't have to worry about cops knowing that you have one. You have to worry about instant-on with all radar detectors though. I cop could be sitting at the side of the road with it off, not radaring anyone because they look to be within limits, they see you right in front of them, they flick it on, and hit you with it and they have you.

| After getting pulled over for the second time ever doing 80 in a 55 in NY I'm definitely looking into getting a detector. I was basically going with the flow of traffic and got snatched. Prob gonna pick up a used V1 on ebay. |

| Radar and "The Laser" Yeah not only do they frown on the fact that you have one, they will probably write you a ticket for using one and still getting caught. Seen it and herd it before. On the other hand the V1 is the best of the best, at least thats the word on the street. Only works when you are in traffic and some one else gets hit. Or out in the country for a Sunday cruise. Even still, be aware in traffic these days because of the new improved system of "The Laser." They can target individual cars with a set of sites mounted on the gun. So either way, you still have to pay attention. |
