EVO 3 Vs. Rogue Engineering Short Shifters

Please give my your advice between these two Short Shifters. I plan on buying a Short shifter kit for my M-coupe and I am undesided between the two. I know the Evo 3 won all kinds of crazy crap but lets be honest their big thing to their short shifter is that there is not plastic ball or (Plastic Pivot Point) but the nut that holds it together is Plastic. Now Rogue Engineering is the opposite Plastic ball but Metal nut......Too my understanding the owners of UUC and Rogue Engineering were once partners and owners of UUC. Until they had a disagreement and went their own ways.... So which is better. Does any one know??????

Thanks Shawn

Also WHY doesn't UUC put out a Pulley Kit for a S54 (E46 M3) Engine. But Rogue Engineering dose?????

The best way to settle this argument is to call each company and see which one you feel more comfortable with. Having said that, I run a Rogue Engineering shifter.

I ran a Rogue Engineering SSK that James hooked me up with and I absolutely loved the feel of it for my old e36 M3. It was a solid SSK without a doubt and the fit/finish is great. I would highly recommend them.

I've heard of people complaining of noise issues with the metal ball on the UUC EVO 3 shifter. Haven't heard of any issues with the Rogue unit.

Personally, I have a Rogue OCTANE SSK in my M3.

I'm currently running the Rouge Engineering shifter right now and absolutely love the thing! Although I haven't tried the UUC, the fit and finish of the RE shifter is top notch and I don't think I would use anything else.

I really like the way that Rogue built their SSK. The only thing that I would rather have is the DSSR from UUC's site. Will the DSSR work with Rogue's SSK? Or is Rogue's WSR (Weighted Selector Rod) good enough? I really like the way the DSSR reduces the slop from side to side. I'd really like to hear some input on this. Thanks.
