Need auto to 5 speed parts list

Hello everybody....

I'm going to do a swap from an auto trans in a e36 325i (5/92) to a 5 speed and need a parts list for the entire swap..... I don't want to get half way through this and find out I'm missing something....

So I turn to all you BMW experts for help, and if any of you are in or near So. Cal and have these parts for sale, please let me know.

You can check all the parts necessary for a manual transmission on that site with actual BMW part numbers.

Also, you will need to reprogram your DME so that it recognizes the new transmission as a manual and not automatic. That's not something you just buy from the BMW parts counter, however.

is it very hard to do? might consider converting my 91 325i to manual at some stage. have to see what its like to daily drive with the auto first.

As long as you have access to a full lift, air tools, good knowledge about BMW wiring and diagrams, and a decent amount of time and patience it is a job that can be done yourself.

However, if you do not have any of these items I would leave it up to a reputable BMW repair shop to do the swap.

arent really and shops like you guys have around my way.. i would have to DIY. its mainly the wiring that would put me off it.

not set on converting tho.. may look into installing a transbrake if the box is fairly strong.
