E46 M3 supercharged or Porsche 996 Turbo

Hey guys, what do you think? I was going to buy a E46 M3 with a supercharger but I fell in love with the Porsche 996 Turbo! Normaly I`m a real BMW fan but Porsche is realy something different, especially the 996 Turbo ! The reason why I even think about that is that the Porsche is much more expensive. What would you do?

It wouldn't be much of a decision for me. 996tt all the way. I prefer cars with factory forced induction to those who go aftermarket. Plus I have just always loved the 996tt for obvious reasons.

When all is said and done, the Porsche isn't going to be much more expensive than a S/C M3 at all. And with a 996TT, because it's a factory car, you don't have the annoying bugs and maintenence issues that you have in an aftermarket F/I car. It's built for the power, and plus...it's a Porsche. Like CMT said...996TT all the way.

996TT, no question. I dont even put the e46 in the same league. Plus it's easy enough to go RWD on the 996 for winter and rock it AWD all winter

If my bank account would allow it, Porsche.. but since it probably never will.. E46 M will be my future.

So I would say the SC'd E46 M if you aren't rich.

Well, even though this is a BMW website, I have to say Porsche hands down. When you consider the cost to buy and build a complete supercharged E46 M3, you are very close to the cost of a used 996TT. In your situation, it sounds like you are purchasing an M3 that already has a supercharger, so the Porsche purchase would be a lot more expensive.
Drive them both and see what you like. From the perspective of a BMW and Porsche owner, I can tell you that there is simply no comparison between the two.

I have always been a die-hard bmw fan as most of us probably are but here there is no comparison.

Porsche 996tt for sure. It is one of the most critically-acclaimed cars of all time, one of the purest driving machines at that too.

Four whole months. Four long, drawn-out, crawling months of GT2 ownership. Oh, the horror.

Sean, it was my pleasure. It was also the last day I saw a certain 04 M3 before it was packed up and shuffled off into the realm of legend.

Plus we don't get many 60 degree days in January here. Even if the guys at that Porsche dealer were totally worthless, smug, self-superior condescending douchebag car salesmen, it was a beautiful drive on a beautiful day. Such nice weather may be old hat to Californians, but us suffering New Englanders have to make the most of those rarities when they happen.

Thanks for your answers! I think my decission will be the Porsche 996 Turbo! It`s such a great car! It`s my biggest dream! I will show you some pics when I accomplished my dream if you want! One more question! What do you think, Arctic- silver or black!? (maybe with Techart frontbumper!)

996TT and go for silver. MrBlonde's car looks awesome in it, wouldn't go for one in any other colour
