Wheel Question

I have been looking for new wheels and I have decided on BBS RGR's in Diamond Black.



They come in both ET55 and ET50. The ET55 gives me 9mm less inner clearance and a 3mm outer extension. While the ET50 gives me 4mm less inner clearance and a outer extension of 8mm.

Which of these two settings is the best to maintain current drive characteristics? I am keeping the same wheel diameter but increasing the wheel width by half an inch, which could still be run on the same tyres. Remember when answering the Mazda 3 MPS is 263bhp and 280 lb-ft front wheel drive car.

Love the wheels. What color is your car?

Ive never seen a Mazda (other than FDs) modded up too much. BBS' would do just fine on the car

The car is black too. Did you have an opinion on which offset would be best?

go for an ET55 no doubt, for ease of fitment.

you may have to get your fenders rolled if not already, but if you had to flare them that would be very expensive and require painting of parts. if you end up scrubbing anywhere, its better on the inside of the wheel arch, depending if its structural or just a little inner guard pannel, a good pannel beater could give you an extra .5" clearance with a rubber mallet in about 30 mins. even then.

either way it wont matter too much, you went up half an inch in width. tryre casings vary more than this.

i went from 7"-9.5" without any real problems, but it took some playing arround to get the car as low as i want.
