fuel injection

when did BMW start making fuel injection for the 3 series? i have an 80' 320i and its not fuel injected...or maybe ppl are dumbasses and im believing em? haha

1980 was the first year, your 320i was first.
At least here the 320i was a 1.8 liter with fuel injection and 102hp. There were also a 320 the same year with carburated 2.0 liter engine making 109hp (80 was the last year for it).

Think it was Kügelfisher mechanical injection.

thx...idky i was wondering...was thinking about an engine swap kause this non injection isnt really working for me haha and i want more power out of this car (also engine is blown to old lol)

you can still have some fun with Carbs!

...turn the car off, take the filter off the Carb and get in the drivers seat and start flooring the accelerator on and off about 8 times.....then go look down the carburator while your friend starts the car.

I had my carbied 320 shoot a flame out the carb whilst i was nearby and it scared the shit out of me!

don't american E21's have mechanical fuel injection? I know both of the one's i've owned did.

for a serious answer: if your car is carbed, then you don't have the fuel flow to run injection, (7ish compared to 40ish lbs) and if it's mechanical, thats going to be a bitch cuz not too many people know shit about mechanical. Korman would be the best to ask.
