| My new M3 POS Well, my M3 arrived today. This M3... http://www.dtmpower.net/classifieds/...1&cat=2&page=6 It's my own fault What a POS. Remember kids, ask lots of questions. Lots and lots of 'em! Also remember that buried deep inside everybody is the ability to "take literary license" with the facts. I didn't by the car from this board. I probably bought it from the person who Godspeed sold it to. I submitted a bid on ebay that I thought would never make it. I was pretty stoked when I won. I'm going to let the disappontment soak in for a couple days and then figure out what the hell I'm going to do with it.I'm glad I didn't pay $14500 for it. If I had, I'd probably start drinking again. kroberts |

| The biggest problem so far is rust. I haven't even been able to bring myself to drive it yet. The right front subframe is so rusted that it is compromising the floor. There is a big bulge under the carpet in front of the passenger's seat. There are cracks in all the fenders/quarters. Rust has penetrated both coners of the trunk. the right front fender is basically broken. The previous owner took the BBS wheel off and put some nice Schnitzers on it. The tires appear to be too big for the car. It looks like the tire grabbed the fender lip while cornering and did bad things to it. The rust is bubbling through the roof...I've only had it for a few hours, I really am not too interested in looking it over any more tonite. There is a friendly indy shop near me. Monday I think I'm going to bring it over and have them put it up on a lift so I can get a really good look at the bad news.F^#K!!! kroberts |

| Oh Boy, It gets better by the minute!!! The windshield is cracked along the bottom right side. Given the extent of the rust along the forward right subframe, I started nosing around under the hood. I found a crack on the inner fender well just in front of the hood catch thingy (I'm not up on all the BMW lingo yet) Coincidence? I think not. I'm no engineer, but I know enough about the dynamic forces that act on the chassis of a car to be able to surmise that the car is probably structurally compromised. Want a good laugh? Here is the Ebay ad I fell for. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1 kroberts |

| Well, I am sorry to hear about the rust and other things. The price wasnt bad for a E30 M3 With a S52 engine in it though man. Im sure the car HALLS ASS. Wow, i just read the "Problems with car, the whole part about "No rust anywhere worth mentioning," on there and all the spots you said. That Bs man. If you don't like it then use the Lemon law thing and get your money back, but if want the positive outlook then, fix up the rust and other things, also gives you an excuse to chose the color on the car, Shiney new paint also! If you can't fix it yourself just slowly do it i guess. I mean the car when its fixed up will be awesome, so don't get yourself down, shit happens to all of us; just roll with it and try and look at the best possible outcome man. | Well I decided I'd take it out and drive it. I waited untill the sun started to set and took it out for a spin. It's really freekin' fast. It's geared pretty high (mechanically). First just winds and winds. I never had a chance to run second gear all the way out. The car has no plates on it so I dont want to venture out too far. The tach doesn't work (surprise!) so I have no idea what the engine is doing. The diff is pretty loud and I get a mild vibration when I coast (more diff problems). The trans is not as easy to shift as my old 325's is. Throws are a lot shorter though. Front suspension is nice and quiet. The parking brake doesn't work. Only one HID lamp works. Only one hi-beam works. No blinkers up front. The sunroof doesn't work. All the warning lights are on. The glove box latch is gone. The trunk release looks like someone smacked it with a hammer. I managed to get the glovebox opened and found the ECU sitting inside...just laying there, all wired up. The exhaust system leaks like hell. It's got some goofy-ass looking Remus muffler on it that actually sounds pretty good when the motor's revved. I've got a ripping tension head-ache & I've got to work tomorrow. I Wake up at 4:30. I'm going to bed. maybe I'll dream about Buicks. kroberts |

| Sorry to hear. You should have seen it coming though. Rust is a huge factor...thats why I only buy cars I can inspect first. At least all of that stuff is repairable...but damn. That would be a fun project car though .All in all though you got raped.

| It's almost funny. I bought an nice m-tech steering wheel on ebay to replace the goofy red one. The wheel is probably worth more than the car kroberts |
