Think this is worth it.....Euro engine on ebay

Damn, seems like its a pretty low price even for the work it needs. $3500 starting bid and looks like a no reserve auction too...just a buy it now...which at $5500 also seems a little low. What do you guys think?

Is the price really high? It seems like its a little low. The only place I know carries euro engines is Bimmer World and their euro 3.2s are $6500. Do the problems with it really effect the price that much?

There really isn't much problems with them.

current description is starting bid $5400 and no, that motor is probably not worth it...

THere are three minor defects on the engine; 1-The fan is broken, 2-the AC bracket is brokent, and 3- The oil pan has a whole and needs to be replaced. Other than these, the engine is in good condition.

It is out of the country, shipping and customs may be a PITA. The engine is from a car that was obviously in a wreck - probably front end damage to the point of hitting the fan, AC bracket, etc... The oil pan has a "whole" punched in it pesumably by an outside object during the wreck, but that to me means oil out, moisture in... Do I trust the condition of the internals anymore? No. Why is someone from a "JDM" shop selling a BMW engine out of canada, and why is their english so poor?

Word of advice, for such things which require moving parts to work... you really do need to see it in person to establish it's validitiy as well as ability to still work.

Pass up the opportunity, and find something you can travel to look at - you'll be safer this way.

I duno why everyone thinks its so high, i have never seen a evo 3.2 liter motor anywhere for that low of price, its definitly a good deal reguardless of the minimal work that needs to be done. If its legit then your a lucky man.
