engine blew out e46 04 m3

last night i was driving my car and it wouldnt get out of first gear,smg so i pull over and open my hood, oil all over the engine bay, i have it towed to the dealer next morning.They said the engine is done..... they are replacing the engine tomorrow with a new one.weird never thought my e46 2004 m3 would have engine failure. just hit 46 thousand miles on it.

i was driving the car normally,and yes replacing it under warranty.Ill get full details of what happened to the old engine monday

You should get the old engine and fix it and put it in something like an e30.

that sucks man, but again you get a brand new engine but i dont know if the break in period still applies, well it does for the engine but i dont know for how long, thats what sucks

wow, dont hear of a BMW engine getting blown to often, at least not a street bimmer with a decent driver. As Im sure you are. Sorry to hear.

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats a damn shame. and with only 46k must have been defective. if you want to get rid of that engine pm me
