So I am starting to organize my garage a little bit. And well I have tons of tools but not a whole lot of metric stuff. So what are some good tools to get for my baby?

i would suggest getting a solid wrench set. i took apart a lot of the rear end of my car with just a socket set and a jack. torque wrench is a must also.

Get jack stands, and rhino ramps. Most importantly a good socket set, nothing cheap. Has to be craftsman, husky, snap on... And a good set ad variety of screw drivers

Get yourself a set of TORX wrenches. You can thank me later.

And step up to air tools. A compressor is around $200 at Sears.

It will make your life 100x easier when working on your car.

Absolutely. If you are down to spend $200 on the compressor, a few hundred on a quality impact gun, a BMW Repair Handbook and a whole lotta hours getting your hands greasy...then you will save yourself a lot of money going to shops or even worse, dealers. You will learn so much about your car; and being on the road with that kind of confidence really is priceless. Brakes, tires, springs, struts etc etc can all be fixed/maintained/upgraded at home. DO NOT GET HUSKY OR CRAFTSMAN trust me I know. Splurge and get mac tool or matco these tools WILL be with you for the rest of your life. Husky and Craftsman are made by the stanley works in tenn. The only good tool co. stanley owns now is proto.... and they don't make socket sets. I used to work for husky when emerson made them and craftsman, they were good then. Now the sidewalls are too thin on the sockets. You will snap a 19mm socket I promise. If you are gonna buy one, then go with craftsman (I guess) they still have a good return policy at sears. I woulg go with a mac toll, matco, or snap on though. When I burn through my old husky's that is what I will buy.

a good compresor running high psi and a good gun will save you a lot of bloody knuckles. And make sure the gun is very good otherwise teh cheap ones cant do shit.

Well most of that stuff you guys mentioned I already have...I have two compressors. Loads of screwdrivers, I think its like 200 or so... I was just wondering if there was and kind of good metric set out there... And yeah, I already have a torx set. I didnt even think about ramps though...

I was actually thinking about making a little mini lift. Cause well I have like 100ft or so of 2x2 square steel tubing and two 9 ton rams. Is there any good diagrams out there? My garage isnt too tall so I cant have a full out lift but yeah.

Thanx for all the responses though. I'll be sure to take pics and whatnot once my garage is all done and clean...ha
