| Can an 1995 M3 engine fit into a 1992 318is chasis? I have a 318i and an M3 engine havent tried to fit it, I want to know before I go trough the trouble of taking the engine out... ![]() |

| 95 is last year of obdI. If I remember correctly the 318 has different mounts or an oilpan or something different. 325 is straight swap.

| there's a lot more to do than just drop the motor in. the suspention won't be up to the extra weight of the 6cyl over the 4cyl, the brakes are hopeless, the diff will pop, the gear box wil probably die, the ecu and all engine wiring needs to be changed...... maybe try and find an m3 with a dead engine and just swap the engine?

| I've got a friend who did it, but he bought a wrecked M3 and swapped all the suspension and interior over at the same time. So yes, it fits. But you'll probably need alot more than just the engine. |
