| BMW NA LLC officially started importing in 1975. Prior to that Maximilian Edwin Hoffman was the first to import BMWs in 1966 (I think 66 is the most reliable year, others say earlier, but I think that is more for his other importing efforts, VW, Porsche, etc. )
