Changing auto trans to manual

Hi all,

I own an E36 328 with automatic trans, and I have decided to install manual trans.

It would be great if anyone would provide me with tips or advice regarding side effects, issues to look out for, and $$$.

i did this project with my e36 m3 sedan and a euro m3 6spd trans

i got a parts kit put together by james clay from bimmerworld.com ... roughly $900 at the time 2 years ago.

essentially, you're gonna need a trans, driveshaft, clutch, flywheel, pedal set, and clutch master/slave cylinders. the manual will not use the transmission ecu either, so that doesnt need to be converted over. u will need to rig up a method for your reverse lights to turn on when in reverse. i also suggest a good trans mount support such as the JT-Designs STN Tranny Rings, as well as a short shift kit,... i went with ACS, but Autosolutions also has a nice kit.
