| performance chip question On my E36 325is, all i have at the moment on the engine is an ECIS CAI and an old exhaust that was on the car when i first got it, which i plan on replacing.... so my question is, if i get a JC chip or AA or whatever, will i have to reprogram it or anything if i change the exhaust after the chip is installed? if so, what essential mods should i take care of before getting a chip to minimize the hassle of possible programing or w/e??

| what about stuff like cams or pulleys? would that affect the programming of the chip? i'd plan on getting the exhaust, then the chip after, but what about mods i get after that?

| What you could look at that would be benificial is the "programable" chips... comes with the software to map out the chip each time a mod or addition is made to your car for added performance. Check on Bavarian Motor Products for info... I believe they have something like that ...

| since i already have an aftermarket exhaust on the car, would i be able to get a chip now, and replace the exhaust at another time without screwing anything up? im planning on replacing the exhaust anyway when i get enough $$$

| chips are for any intake and any exhaust, so yes get the chip now and replace the exhaust later = no problems. upgrades later such as pullies, ltw flywheel, mid pipes, headers, etc. will not need reprogrammed. Cams and big fuel upgrades or boost will need a different program.
