| Short Shifter Question I got a Dinan carbon fiber/aluminum front upper stress bar off EBAY BARELY used (great deal) for 200 when a new one is 400, but when I see short shifter kits on ebay "brand new" for like 20 bucks or so I was a little skeptical... How much should I expect to pay for a quality short shifter for an E36? Is the short shifter a good bang for the buck? I mean, is it a noticeable upgrade, or is it only worth getting if I take my car on a track or something? I DRIVE my car, and I love getting mods that make a difference when I drive (such as the Dinan stress bar - awesome BTW) and I wanna know what you guys think about the SS kit and also, if i get a short shifter for a good price, is it gonna cost me an arm and a leg for installation, or is it something that can be done yourself? Thanks alot

| the shifter you are talking about is like the m&m one right? Blue cup, chrome or polished shaft? If that is the one, do not get it> My friend got one and it is notchey as hell. I have the fully adjustable b&m, and it shifts about 200 dolaars worth better if you know what I mean. Ebay is ok at times, but all in all you get what you pay for. save the 220 bucks and in a coulple of months by the real thing. you will be much more happy, trust me!! |

| Buy one from Ron Stygar. IMO, it's the best short shifter available, and I believe it's under $200 shipped for the whole kit with all the extras. |
