bmw reliable???

mine has left me a couple of times... once the heater core broke, another time it said "Oil pressure low" BMWs need to be treated very well to hold up.. When they break they cost a lot more to fix then other cars but the e36 is a very good car, you may just have a bad one.. sorry man

I had and e30 325ic for 7 years and I've had a e36 328ic for about half a year...never stranded...never stuck. Do your preventative maintenance and all will be well.

Well don't sell it, you've almost created a new car. Probably poorly maintained but from the list it's almost there.

I have had my car for almost three years and so far it was only towed once, and that was because I was adumbass and had the cooling system worked on by a non-bmw guy who didnt bleed it. But other than that the car has been pretty good to me.

If you drive an E36, be sure to get rid of the water pump (im not sure if anyone has said this yet lol) because the impeller is PLASTIC! Of all things, why did BMW do this, for real does anyone know if they did it experimenting, money saver?
