| The 850 performance times are 5.8 and the 1/4 in 14.1 The E46 M has 4.7 and 13.4, and i've seen standard M's trap in the 107 range with ET's of 13.1. The fastest stock 6 MT ET is 12.7. Even going off the regular ET's of 13.4 and 14.1 which is 7/10s of a second, which would equal at least 5-6 car lengths. When does the CSI manage to catch and pass the M3? I also don't drive over 170 km/h very often ![]()

| To be honest its a bit crazy to compare these. They are as you say very different, the M3 is more a sports car but realy its too heavy so its almost a grand tourer, the 850CSi is a big grand tourer but in standard form is limited to 250km/h. Specify a limited set of metrics and you can "prove" either is better, its all pretty childish and over simplistic, a car is a lot more than a couple of accelleration numbers. Its a bit like comparing an M5 to an M3 they are different and the world is a better place for the choice IMHO ![]() Cheers, Iain.
