e36 325i question

IIRC the i refers to a sedan, while ci refers to coupe. Why did i see a 325i convertible, today, with only 2 doors?? I was not hallucinating.

Actually, sedans are "i" and coupes are "is" for E36s. And they stand for "injected" and "injected sport".

The convertible is badged as simply "i" but everyone just refers to them as 325iC.

just like tdc said, in the e46 the coupes and convertibles r known as "ci"
