| s4 vs. 330ci/m3/330xi looking to purchase a car by the end of june. Im a previous audi owner and i kind of wanted to switch to BMW i obviously love the m3 but in my opinion the 1999 and under models are seen far too much if i were to get an m3 it would have to be a 2002-2003 but with some high milage. I like the 330ci only because i would be able to purchase it relativly new but im leaning away from it because i want a car faster then the 2.7t a6 i own right now and i havnt herd of 330ci's running superfast times without heavy mods. The 2004 s4 i love because of the body style, but the lack of turbos turns me off, i love audis turbo engines and i think that a 1999-2000 s4 with lower milage would have alot of potential. Another thing that turns me away from bmw is rear wheel drive obviously i would love to be able to drive a rwd vehicle but living in NH in the winter could present problems with the m3. Iv considerd the XI models but to me they are an insult to true BMW lovers... anyway what would you guys go with.. Last edited by Biturbo27 : 05-26-2005 at 06:13 PM. |

| xi shouldnt really be compared to quattro. anyways, i have a 01.5 S4 and i love it, with winter tires its UNSTOPABLE in the snow. we take delivery of a 2005.5 S4 tomorrow morning and i'll tell you what its like soon

| this post deffinetly wasnt intent on putting down an XI but after driving quattro i dont think they compare, i just think that bmw will always be known for their rwd vehicles as audi is known for their quattro, the XI model is a great car, but i think BMW should stick with rwd, iv decided to go with an s4 becuase of snow, still not sure what year |

| Only in the US are Audis know as awd vehicles, everywhere else in the wolrd they are more commonly seen as front wheel drive vehicles where you can get the pulley and axle gear box which they have not found a way to fit on the awd's as of yet.

yea there very bias to the front wheels. same thing with the r32's. the new haldex AWD programmer allows you to play with the torgue management and even make the car mostly rear wheel drive. theres a similar system that comes stock in subaru STi's also brendon i'de just keep the a6. put the K04 kit on and put some rs6 rims on maybe a couple rs6 cosmetic things and it and it will be sick. even tho its pretty nasty now. |

Only driven it a few hundred miles so far. the fact that it guzzles gas is the only downside, but the sound the V8 makes is Amazing. I still prefer the B5 body, but the B7 interior is amazing IMO. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
