Saw my first 1er yesterday...

I saw my first 1er yesterday and I must say I am not impressed by its outer appearance, in fact before I could say anything my GF said it was ugly. Defintely won't be going on my list of favorite BMWs.

i think the ACS one looks good, but straight from the factory they dont look to hot

Swear to god, had the 120i badge on the back, but it had a Tijuana license plate(i live in San Diego) I really didn't think they were released yet either, thats why it caught my attention. Silver with Black interior.Looked just like this.

They've been released everywhere else in the world besides the US. Guess Mexico has them already.

the aesthetics are for european appeal. believe it or not, theyr selling pretty well, though it looks bad, its completely lives up to bmw standards.

it might sell well over in europe, but i don't see it having much of a future here in the states, the american car consumer doesn't think of bmw as a compact/cheap car and that will be the 1 series greatest pitfall, bmw tried it before with the 318ti and mercedes tried it with the c230/320 hatchbacks which will be or already are off the market, granted i know those cars were smaller and were hatchbacks, but they still are the same category of car, the US and european markets/consumers r just too different, why don't u think bmw ever really pushed diesel cars here or their smaller 2.0 liter sixes

Mexico has them. I was in Cancun for spring break this year and I saw a bunch of 1er's driving around. They look alot better in person than they do in photos, but im still not a big fan.

i know, cmon, the lowest end bimmer here is the 325 fully loaded. a 325 is considered "baller" in most other countries, sort of close to how we regard the m's, so imagine how the m3 is precievd as. we really are spoiled over here! i know, look how long it took audi to bring over the a3 and im sure it wont do as well as they hope. have you ever seen an a2?

I like em a lot actually, though I am a huge fan of hatchbacks. I think it would look much better as a 2 door. On that note, are they available in a 2 door?
