Question 15k Oil Change Questions

1st Off I'm totally clueless when it comes to BWM's or any german cars.
My Mom just bought an 03 330ci convertable 100k warr. & 100k maint. 29k miles
SO Oil changes.... WTF?
Dude said every 15k=~70$ not bad $ BUT 15000miles? Umm after like 5-6k synthetic oil
needs to be replace? Right or wrong? I know about the filter prob.

THEN I read this site and some guys are switching to synthetic from NON? WTF???
15k on non-synthetic FUCK THAT! My non-synthetic Rx7 needs changed 1500-2000 miles.
Again its an rx7, I don;t know about BMW's.

Anyone know if we can take the car in for an oil change every 5k and still have the maint. warranty
pay for it? How does that work? The fast talking salesman didn't explain that one

thanks in advance!
-Terry

No, the maintenance program only covers SCHEDULED services. Meaning, if the car does not indicate that it is ready for service, it will not be covered.

You sure you wrote that correctly? Switching FROM non-synthetic TO synthetic will allow you to extend the mileage between oil changes, not the other way around.

Also, why is the salesman telling you that the oil changes will cost ~$70?

ALL scheduled service is COVERED under the maintenance program which includes oil service (every 15K and 45K), Inspection I (30K) & II (60K) (since you're covered until 100k), brakes, windshield wiper inserts, brake flushes (every 2 years from production date), coolant flushes (every 4 years from production date), bulbs, and some other things.

If you want to change your oil every 5000 miles for peace of mind, do it yourself to save some money. Otherwise, just follow the vehicle's service schedule.

Thanks for the quick response!
Ya I meant synthetic is better then non-synthetic

$70 in the future, Its covered now

The salesman and the manager told us the if the brakes/wipers/small things/etc
go bad at ANYTIME we could bring it in and it would be covered! I guess not.

15k for oil changes it is! I usally follow the dealer maintenances religiously.
I've never heard of any car only needing and oil change every 15k thats all.

thanks again!

By "scheduled service" I mean oil servicing, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, and BMW Inspection services since you were asking specifically about bringing the car in for oil changes at intervals less than scheduled.

Brakes, wipers, bulbs are not scheduled services but still covered under the maintenance program. It's all outlined very clearly in your Service & Warranty booklet that can be found within your portfolio.
