s2000 is more reliable and cheaper to make faster. Go test drive one and you wont be disappointed. I love M3's too (as im tryin to get one), but if you dont have the money to maintain and possibly mod the bmw it wouldnt be a very good choice. i havent heard vanos kick in on a bmw, but when vtec kicks in on the s2000 its NUTS.

I would say the 330. They are pretty close to the speed of a stock e36 M3, and are leaps and bounds more refined, and finding one in prime condition with low mileage will be way easier. Most people on this board are e36 owners so I've got my flamesuit fully in place and ready.
