| Car Alarm Recommendations? I guess now that I have a decent car I should get a decent car alarm. I was looking at the Stellar BMWVTXC but $600 seems kinda steep to me. I guess I don't need all those features, I'm just a gadget-addict. Found one similar at Circuit City for $110 (Code Alarm CA-645 ) but it looks kinda crappy. Recommendations?

| I had a compustar those are pritty nice especially the 2 way system. Be sure to get an extra battery, motion sensors in your car, and dyno mat your doors. Also don't forget sensors on your window. This way your car is very difficult to steal especially if you put alot of money into it, but there is always someone out there that can get threw everything. However, the compustar comes with gps tracking with their top of the line and its a great feature. I had it hooked up with a lojack system also. My car was never touched ![]() just my 2 cents Koya |

| DEI is Directed Electronic Inc. They make a buch of different brands of car alarms and other products. I would suggest a Viper alarm as well, I have one and really like it. Neo, let me know which alarm you decide on, and I might be able to get it for you for real cheap.

| I really like those ones with pagers. It doesn't make sense to have one that doesn't tell you when your car is being messed with. Besides, these days nobody pays attention to a car alarm going off. Does Viper make something like this?

| Viper makes two different alarms like that, one with the remote starter and the other with out it. They both have the little screen on them, and have the 2-way system so when the alarm goes off, you can see exactly which sensor caused it. When you remote start the car it shows exhaust coming out of the cars tail pipe on the screen. The alarm can also be setup to operate almost any feature in the car from the remote. Even though most of the remotes only have four buttons, you can use a two buttons at once or a sequence of buttons to do many more set functions. My brother in an installer, and set up is truck as a demo for the viper alarms. He can put the windows up or down, turn on the seat heaters, turn on and off the white underbody neons, and a bunch of other stuff for the sound system he has in it. Pretty much any feature that needs an electrical signal to operate can be controled. He also has an interior poximity sensor so if the window are down and you try to stick your hand in though the window with out ever touching the car, it will set the alarm off. He also has two mini piezo sirens in the car and it is actually painful to stay in the car for even a few seconds. And to keep the alarm working even if someone cuts the battery cable there is a battery backup for it. You can pretty much go as crazy as you want with the alarm, and even have GPS tracking in the alarm like Lo-Jack. It all depends on how much you want to spend.
