i found an E36

ok i found a women selling a 93 318is with 112,000 miles on it, the good thing is that my step dad knows her and she will sell it to me for $5800, i really wanted a m3 or something more powerful. should i do it?

hey fellow kzoo'er...it's tough to find bimmers around here, you should prolly check that price like everyone else says. a 318 is only a 4cylinder, m3 is much more powerful. i'm in the same situation as you, and i have been comparing prices the past few months, thats really high for a 318. I wouldn't.

I agree, they call that engine the M44, but they had that engine in the E30s
(it was called the M42 though) My brother has a 318iS (E30) and to be honest, it's kinda slow, of course he used to have an E30 325iS. But if you can imagine that engine in a larger, heavier E36, then you my friend have one slow ass car there. I wouldn't buy that, instead I would save up for a E36 325i or 325iS. It's a good bit more power, and the M50s are damn near bulletproof. If you wanted something like a 328iS, you might as well buy an M3. Thats just my opinion though.

Use Kbb.com for an in general price range for cars...i usually when look for cars find them cheaper then the kbb price any way,

A 318 and an M3 are miles apart. If you want an M3 the next best thing is an E36 IS.
