It kinda all depends what your looking for. The 1995 m3 would be my choice because of the tunability of the car. yes you can tune the 96 but its obdII and you do not get as much power out of the basic mods such as exhaust, track pipe etc... It all depends on mileage, condition of the vehicle etc... But if the 96 and 95 were similar in condition and mileage, I would take the 95 all day long..

95 M3 is going to be your best choice out of all of those. Although all-wheel drive is appealing. Why not look at an S4?

Depends where you live. Also take into consideration the condition of vehicle , colors and what not. Being BMW kinda guy i would take one of the m3's, if condition is similar then I would take the color i like best. 95's are more tuneable w/ basic mods. but 96's have more stock torque and are also the least produced(i believe).

Id say go witht he 96 M3 the A4 is to heavy for the engine you wont notice any difference. It was suggested earlier, why not look at an S4 if you go with an audi?

because the s4 starts 2001 i would hardly call it a M3 e36 competitor, why not put it against a S2 80 Quattro?

S4 has been out for quite a while my friend. my roommate has a URS4 meaning orignal which i believe starts in 92 i believe. Its a 5 Cylinder 2.8 litre engine with a Turbo. then they went to Bi Turbo V6 but that blew gaskets like a mofo, and now its just at a V8.

well if it were a different Audi it would depend but a bad audi versus a good bmw theres no contest. Now if it were say an S6 or something then it would make it a bit more difficult, but the A4 1.8t sucks.

Well, of course there should be no decision making process when it comes to BMW or Audi...I almost bought an S4 instead of my M3, but after test driving them and learning more about them, all-wheel drive is good for two things...going to the mountain and launching off the line. After having a few BMW's, I like to say that I will always have one around because they are the greatest car in every sense of the word great. I personally choose an OBD1 M3 because of its simplicity...cars today are getting way too complicated to work on...you almost have to be an electrician to open up of the hood, no good. So I kept it simple and in the long run you get more power out of a '95 than a '96. My 2 cents...

I love the Audi A4, the 1.8t is nice! But I would take the 95 M3, you can make more power from the m3 for less, you have to be commited from what I understand to hit 400ft/lbs torque in a 1.8. Life begins at 450
