To Ultimate One, Petar7408 & others

I've always been the first to dismiss the SRT4 as a real performance car. While I feel that I have always been fair in acknowledging the straight line capacities of the SRT4, I have never respected the rest of the car's abilities.

Then I went to the races at Sebring. I was fortunate enough to cover the Speedtechnik #22 car for the event. This allowed me to get exposure to a car that I must admit, is quite unknown to me. The car performed beyond everybody's expectations.

I have a new found respect for the SRT4 and front wheel drive in general. A FF with a properly tuned suspension is an absolute beast on the track.

So the point is.....

I take back everything I have said about the car. Keep doing what you are doing guys, it is absolutely incredible.

Cheers,
Chris

Awesome Zakes.
I remember a couple years back when me and you were chatting in CMT's kitched one night about the SRT-4 and as usual you were trashing it and I still had my Z. Oh how things have changed. I ended up with one and now you have new found respect for a truely great car at such an affordable price.
Thanks Zakin, I wish others wouldnt dismiss the car so fast because of its roots.

Jeff

ULTIMATEONE - ur car is sick, but u hav done shit to it. the stock one's arent anything too special. keep in mind the majority of kind of ppl who by them do not hav much money and are pretty young

To be honest, anything with a properly tuned suspension would be an absolute beast on the track. Driver skill has a bit to do with it too.

Rear wheel driven cars are still so much better because the fundamental problem of understeer doesn't typically exist with them.

I'm with Z-Man on this...I always thought that it was still just a neon...until I saw Jeffs. I have respect for the SRTs now...and I know what they can do on and off the track.

This is a good and true point. RWD is time tested and theres a reason why almost all race cars are RWD. This doesn't mean that I dont respect the SRT as being a good street car, because I know they can be made to be very very fast. But as a track car I would rather go with something that is RWD.

if its sooo important why not go with awd? thats so good on the track that it is not even allowed in many races.
