Pulled Over For Angel Eyes !!!

I have these http://www.dtmpower.net/classifieds/...cat=all&page=1 angels eyes in my car and im driving home today and the cop pulls me over and says there illegal is that true. Im in Virginia if so why and how are the 5 series lights legal .. its my birthday too good thing he didnt give me a ticket.

I'm not to familiar with the laws in Virginia, but I am guessing that you got pulled over because the lights are so blue. You can't have really brilliant blue or red lights on a car because they resemble and emergency vehicle. But in your case, it still sounds like B S to me, so good luck

yeah I read some about that too. No blue because it resembles a cop. When I had strobes it was "ok" because they were bright white but the blue ones could have gotten me a 1,000 dollar fine for impersonating an officer.

Red or blue lights are illegal because of what Dado just said. They are reserved for emergency vehicles only.

dang I wish i knew that before I got these lights they really turned out nice so what do you guys recommend order the white ones? Or just take my changes also what kind of ticket am I looking at with angel eyes and 1/4 glass tint too dark is it just a fine or does it go on my record thanks

i doubt its a moving violation but you never know. id just get whiter lights.

What were you thinking having blue angel eyes in the first place? The yellow ones look out of place enough on a e36 IMO, blue is just begging for attention.

I had the same DDEs on my headlights got pulled over to much , and switch to regular DDE's in white.

Wow that sucks man, but I guess I can see how that's impersonating a cop. All cops in MD have blue/red strobing DDE's on their cruisers... it's to counter the wind resistance from their hood light-bars.

Here's a question, now that you can find DDE's for anything from Acura to Volkswagon, are they truly overdone? If that's so then since BMW is the trend-setter, what tasteful BMW thing will be next?

I had the same thing happen to me (got pulled over) the JackA$$ gave me a fix it ticket. I changed them out with green ones. I feel your pain!

it's not a fine, it's a fix it ticket. You have a month to fix it or so and take it back to the police station to get it inspected.

Dado, you never got in trouble for you strobes? I had some whelen ones (white) and I got a fix it ticket when I was sitting on private property in a mall parking lot. Thats when I used to live in maryland.

if you have the amber - yellowish color for the AE, popos won't even care about your car, just stay away from those colorful colors.

I think maybe the police don't like it because of the potential distraction. I know if I had someone driving towards me, or behind me, with green/blue/red/purple DDE's I'd probably be distracted somewhat. I could see how the police would look at them like they would neon accents.
