Power Failure to Coil

How do you check for the problem when I have a no power to the coil. How do you check crank sensor, cam sensor, ignition system, or whatever the problem may be....any ideas.

88s had distributerless ignition? damn BMW is good, was it on just the 318s or just the all e30s?

Is it all the coils or just one, if its just one coil than its probably the coil itself.

This should be in e30 forum BTW.
