E46 M3 or E39 M5

M5 easily .. had a ride in one the other day. Was smooth with good power!

love both body styles, but the e46 is my love... as you can tell from the sig,
but that e39 is pretty tight... i still feel the e46 m3 will live longer in style than the slowly dying style of the e39...

for instance, i would love to drive an e30, but def not an e34 (wasn't a big fan of that style), just the same, i feel eventually the e39 will feel a little outdated esp after this new 5er has been out for a while...

plus, that new hpf turbo kit for the e46 m is insane.

not to mention, any f/i for the m3 would be insane.

I would go for the M5 for a few reasons:
1) 4 doors for being useable everyday
2) sleeper, unless you are an enthusiast and know what you are looking at
3) big power, big engine.... BIG potential
4) 5 series luxury!!!!!
I love the M3 as well, but the M5 is just such a hard to find package to me. They are just so sexy and powerful...... Makes me want to bust a nut....

im gunna have to go with the e39 one badass 4 door that u can bring alot of people in it has tourqe tourqe tourqe.....and that sound u just cant beat....plus the mods that are available for it can give it an insane amout of power...no sayin u cant with an e46...but with that sound practibility and power its got my vote...o and one more thing...deffinetly a sleeper

M5 hands down. My modded e39m5 walked away from a modded e46m3. Both were similar in mods. Plus you cant beat 180mph with 4 people riding in comfort.

If this is the basis for a race car though, get the e46m3

otherwise e46m3... yes it has a less powerful engine and only 2 doors but fuck the kids, buy a turbo and go prancing about in something that looks extremely stylish yet when young kids in their skylines pull up next to you they dont even bother

I have to take long trips some times so I like the comfort of the M5 and yet the power that comes with it.

Wanna race? M3 is better place.
Seriously - M3 is lighter, you can buy racing parts etc.
M5 is touringcar with sports DNA, yeah - more power but more kilograms.
If you driving alone a like racetracks buy M3. You get representative sport car with excelent driving skills. But if you traveling on longer distance and seldom visit racetracks, M5 doesnt fail. I´ve no doubt of that same opinion have more people.

Exactly! I want to visit a race track, but dont have the time. So sence I spend time on long trips, M5 is for me. Its all about practicality.

idk i am more of a smaller coupe lover. but i am still young so my tastes may change as i age.i like the sporty look better.
