 I'm biased. It's got to be the M5. Even if you don't mod the crap out of it, an X-Pipe and Dinan Exhaust makes that car sound insane for some reason this combination really works. On the other hand Both cars are hot, they both have there place, my location, road, work and everything the M5 is the choice.

| WOW, a whole year with no posts. M5 cause you get the V8 power and sound. unless you get the Hartge M3 with the M5 engine, very nice

| the m5 was made to be the ultimate driving machine.. what else is that fast, has 4 doors, and sounds like a beast? nothing. |

| On the drive down to bimmerfest the M5 got better gas millage then my car so Ill go with the M3 for the money and the M5 if your crazy and have the money!!!! |

| If you want a car built with brute force and power along with the nice big extra room and backseats, then get the E39 M5. If you want a car that hugs your body tight and can only be described as a surgical precision weapon on the road, get the E46 M3. |

| i love both cars, but i would take the M3, its lighter and more of a sports car.the best option would be the e46m3 with the e39 m5 v8. |

| After thinking about it, I want to change my vote to the M3. I love mine and when I see M5's on the road, it just doesn't do it for me. Dont get me wrong, they are both great cars.
