I like the CLS55, I do NOT like the SLR.

Honestly I think teaming up with Mercedes' philosophy of engine building really hurt the image and history of a company like McLaren.


This is the car that's supposed to fill the shoes of McLaren's last road-going supercar - the F1? Not in a million years. I would much rather have the more impressive engine that BMW designed a decade ago.

Im not to sure what to think of the slr. I sure as hell like the performance but the styling and automatic tranny i dislike.

There are a number of things wrong with it from a supercar point of view.

It's heavy
It's automatic
It's front engine
The driver is EXTREMILY far back
Poor visibility

I mean those are just fundamentals, I don't believe McLaren should have taken part in something that did ALL of those things wrong (when the F1 did all of those things perfectly.)

It's obviously just a marketing scheme that was cooked up based on their formula 1 experience together.

and you forgot the dash is made mostly of cheap honda civic type plastic! outside styling and performance are nice though.

The SLR and the CLS are ugly in my opinion.

I don't like the wheels, front, and mirrors. On the other hand that new sedan is hot.

Yeah McLaren messed that one up, it is def. a beautiful car but it obvouisly is not BMW and does not compare to McLaren prevouis beasts
