BMW P83 2003 F1 engine...

Read the specs on that motor, my jaw dropped to the floor!....

Just a few unbelievable specs:

-900+hp V10
-19,200 RPM
-engine weights less than 90 kilograms!!!


So this must be were some of the engine technology for the M5 V10 derives from.

I can't imagine having a rod break or a bearing getting pwned at 19,000 RPM (limited of course)
any one tell me what they were saying by the oil system having a tough challenge with the 4g lateral accelration....what is moving like that?

I imagine trying to get a pump to push oil while its experiencing 4g's of lateral force (on the car) is a pretty tough task to accomplish.

Maybe because at high lateral G's the oil in the sump would scavenge up against the wall completely sideways and away from the pickup for the oil pump. I'm just speculating.
