advice for which car to get

I want a turbo car soon, and i am still undecided. Its hard to pick between a supra, evo 8, sti, or a turbo m3. Im leaning between the sti and turbo M, but im still not certain. the Sti seems more practical because its simple, fast and a sedan. But on the other hand how sweet would it be to have a turbo m3. As of this moment im leaning towards the sti. Does anyone have a reasonable arguement for any others?

well the turbo m3 would be awesome but its going to cost a lot to get it up and running properly and reliably. its also going to be more expensive to maintian by a BIG margin i'd think being an m3 that been considerably modified.

the sti is an awesome car but the evo 8 is better imo (although i'm not sure if you got a different version of them to us.... i think you did) from what i hear the evo 8 is a much sharper car and handels a bit better.

the supra is a big fat coupe that isn't really that great until you start modding it. yes you can get massive numbers out of the engine and make it go round corners really really well but thats going to cost lotsa money.

if it was me i'd look at what i had to spend and what sort of a car i'd be happy to live with from day to day and decide from there. personally it'd be a decision between the evo 8 and the m3.

also look into what insurance is going to cost you. you might get laughed at trying to get insurance on a turbo m

I also recomend the EVO, if you can deal with what some consider bad styling.

It corners on rails, its powerfull, aftermarket is huge, and its very practical.

There will always be more power to be had with the evo, plus it handles, corners well and is awd.

what about the S4 a little over 2 grand gets you about 340hp. its easy to mod and its still a classy car. i guess it depends on what you are looking for. my friend has an STI and its a badass car, i would say get that over the evo. better car imo. turbo M seems like more trouble than it is worth to me. just my 2cents.

rwd or awd > fwd, If you are looking at turbos i would get an Sti or Evo, unless you have alot of money to spend on maintaining the M3.

EVO!!! my uncle just picked one up and its one nice package. Id definatley buy one. The 3rd gear acceleration is awesome and the engine loves to rev. As soon as the turbo spools up the car feels like a rocket. the car is scary fast and has good handling, the recaros really hold ur ass in place. The turn in and the feedback is nice too. There is a little bit of understeer but that is to be expected. I would be really happy if I had one. My only disapointment was the brakes. I thought since they were brembos they would suck my eyeballs out but I didnt think they were that great. Maybe I didnt warm them up or might have been the fact that I wasnt really using the brakes? Also I felt the shifter was a little too close. I found myself taking off in 3rd a few times. Overall its a great car. The momo wheel feels great in your hands too. Its easy car to drive. I wouldnt buy one used unless i knew the owner pretty well because those cars are either modified or have been beaten to death. Good luck and hopefully you will make the right choice. And a turbo M3 is a no-no in my book. BMW M cars are supposed to be N/A.

I would say EVO or STI. Test drive both and decide which you prefer as they are very different in feel, despite both being similar configurations.

come on now...experience a S4 and its all over...need I say TWIN TURBOs while sitting in the lap of luxury...and not to mention a great all wheel drive system you keep your ass on the road when that boost hits around the bends.
Yeah Evos and Sti's are great...but a bit crude...just my opinion.....but why not go for a great german designed car that can still be worked on and build up with a lil work.
I even hate to say it, but out of the boxes, I believe that the S4 will take the M3 of the line...
My buddy has the RS6 sedan and got a new down pipe, exhaust, and software and the things flys like the wicked witch of the west headed toward the east (where the sti's and evos hang out..lol)
Drive em and find out for yourself

3rd generation Mazda RX-7. Just research it long enough to find one that is a good base to build off of. You can get one in great condition for 12-14k.

2800lbs
0-60 in 4.8 seconds
Amazing handling car (.28 drag coefficient, almost 50/50 weight distribution, lower than all of the cars you named, WAY lower center of gravity)

What else could you ask for?

Oh yea, and the Pearl-mica finishes they came out with are still considered one of the best finishes out there... and beautiful too

I think a turbo m3 would be cheaper to maintain than a modded RX7.

I think that a turbo M3 would be sweet. One of my friends has a Evo with 355Whp and stock suspension and it absolutly hauls, so i wouldn't be against the Evo either. I personally prefer a STi for the looks and the interiour over the Evo.
