Cheap place to get a paint job..

Anyone know a good place to send me for a paint job for cheap? I'm buyin a 90' 535i and its nice and all but its got that ugly blue color, which to me is no big deal, but it would be tight to paint it imola red or white or something really nice, anyways, anyone know of good cheap places please share.

If you want something that is going to be decent quality, you are going to have to pay for it. If you want something that is going to oxidize, peel, crack in less than a year, go with Maaco or whoever is the cheapest.

If you want to do a good job you'll have to strip out the motor and inside since it's a monocoque constuction chassis and paint the whole shell

With painting you always get what you pay for.

Thats why a neon around me is that nissan blue/green color, but has pink doors and a peeling trunk.

We couldnt tell you a good place to paint beause we dont live near you (or atleast i dont) and most franchise paint companies suck, ie macco. SO jus ask people who live where you live for a good shop, or try the regonal forum in your area. Also try to use ppg paint and clear.

here's legendman's car, before he sold it for his current m3. it was painted at maaco, though as i understand it, it's not the cheap job:

Yes because painting the whole car(engine bay, etc) somehow affects the quality of the paintjob. Love that logic.

Don't forget that Maaco offers many different paint packages from the Ambassador (cheap) to their Signature which is far better quality for $1000+
