BMW M3 Easter Egg???

If you dont know what an easter egg is... its something hidden somewhere on a product (be it a movie, music, books, computer games, hardware) and now a car.

I dont think BMW acknowledges it as an official "feature" on US cars, so it is kind of a hidden feature. I also heard that it will void your warantee if you do it 10 times, but I'm not quite sure how something that bmw says "dosent exist" could void your warantee. Also, if one were to find a dealer who actually knows that this exists (lots dont) it IS possible to download the Euro software.

Yes its launch control, bmw acknowledges it. The only difference is the euro version launches at a higher rpm.

it doesn't void your entire warranty. just your gearbox warranty as it places huge loads on the box that it isn't really designed to take. i think its the same story with the csl

it doesnt void your warranty here if you do it 100 times as long as you keep the stock software that launches at a lower rpm. there are laws here in us restricting what you can say in a warranty, the void only applies if you live in europe or load the european software that launches at a higher rpm.

i guess it does the gear box warranty here because we get the euro model and not the us one. everythings the same except the wheel is on the right hand side

Wow... that's pretty retarded that they build a transmission not strong enough to support the motor... then say "it'll void your warranty" if you actually tear into it for all it's worth.

the launch controll simply drops your clutch. the transmission is fine for the car...
i could break the clutch on my integra by droping it but i will be the first to tell you that the engine is not too powerfull for any transmission
