| Have a sponsorship proposal written out with specifics about how the car will be modified, what magazines you plan on appearing in, and what shows you will be attending. If you are new to the scene, getting sponsorship is more difficult because it usually takes a friend within a company to give you a break and sponsor your car.
It's safe to say that everyone on here is an enthusiast and would love to have their car heavily modified. Just because you have a nice car doesn't entitle you to breaks on parts. I sent on many proposals back in the day before I was able to get some deals on parts...and even then it was extremely rare to get parts for free.
Before approaching major manufacturers, I would try local shops as you have a better chance of getting wholesale prices on brands they carry than contacting the manufacturers themselves.
