| the drivier of the m3 must have been really conservative driving it cause it only ran 13.1 in the 1/4, car and driver had their long term 2001 m3 tester hitting 13.1 and it was stock, on the upside they did say the brakes were awsome and that the car worked flawlessly |

| ... The times on all the cars were faster. The radars they used were by satallite and were off by a lot on all the cars they are actually faster. But i still think that is bullshit that the m3 came in 6th. |

| the M3 was still competing with some ridiculous cars and came in third in the road course. like they said it is a well balanced car and had the best braking time in its class, plus for a car only running 5.5 psi it still came in 3rd in the road course

| come to think of it i am going to write a letter to car and driver's backfire section and voice my opinon that their driver and/or equiptment really sucked if they got a stock m3 to do the same 1/4, usually C&D is pretty good, especially when it comes to BMWs but this time i think that they are wrong. |

| or people could not make excuses for AA, they answered this indepth a few months ago on m3forum, aa even replied say their cars are meant to be every day drivers with a little extra POW not, anything along the lines of these modified corvettes, and vipers. just look up this same subject on there, and theres at least 11pages of shit typed on it |

| The M3 was in the sedan class and thus competed with an RS6, CTS-V's etc. It did not have to compete against modified corvettes or vipers. That being said, C&D specifically said they wanted modified cars that are in production now, precluding the previous generation M3 which they acknowledge to be much faster when AA tuned. They also recognize that the AA supercharged M3 did not have as much tuning as the E36 M3's or any of it's competitors. |

| i don't care what u say, when i car with 100 more hp then stock and relatively the same power curve has the same 1/4 time as a stock car, then something is wrong, either with the driver, equipment, or car, it just doesn't make sense. |
