upkeep cost for 2000 M3?

I'm thinking of getting a 2000 or 2001 M3 next year (when I grad college, it be a gift to myself)....
the question is, how much would hte upkeep be each year for a M3?

cant be much as there fairly recent however make sure you get one that has already been checked by bimmer as there was a recall for the first ones, id imagine it to be better than a e36 but it wont start showin till you hit 75 or 80+k

The cost would be pretty high, considering you would have to first build a time machine, then fabricate an M3 from scratch in the year 2000... Although I suppose you could use the time machine to play the lottery/stock market and re coup your production costs.

if you're worried about upkeep costs, I wonder if an M3 is the right choice....

Maybe its just me, but I buy cars that I know I can maintain, no questions. If I'm unsure, its probably out of my budget...

also keep this in mind, u'd prob be about 22 when u grad college, do u have any idea what the insurance on an e46 m3 would be for u.. i just turned 20, but a few months ago my dad was thinking of getting a new m3 and he got an insurance quote for it to have me on it (i have a perfect driving record..no tickets/accidents), and he said that it was close to what the payments on the car would be, even with just my dad on it (hes mid 50s) the insurance was ridiculous. so before u get ur heart set on an e46 m3 right out of college i'd ask yourself if u can afford the insurance, in my opinion that would be alot more important that upkeep, and definetly would cost alot more, but thats just my $.02.

as for 2000 e46 m3 they didn't make it to my knowledge, i remember seeing in one of my autoweeks or some mag that they sold kits or what ever to create an m3 for that year but it wasn't wide spread. it could of only been one car that they converted but i believe it's been done. don't know the dollar amount but it should be up there.

just because you can change motors or add m3 parts dosent mean you can "create an m3 for that year"

hmm, from adult webmaster board that i frequent (lots of them have bimmers and high priced cars), they said the upkeep isn't too bad....some said they never had to pay a cent to upkeep.

just came in here to ask you guys because you guys prob know more about BMWs than them.

And i'll just be 21 when i grad, I'm graduating a year earlier.
