E36 M3 Vs. Late 80s porsche 911?
I am in the process of getting a car and was trying to decide between these two, any suggestions?

I'm sorry to say it, but I'd rather a 1989 911 over a E36...

Between them... If I could have only one...

I would lean towards the BMW, but they are two very different cars... The porsche makes a great second car, and it is fun to drive on PCH - it definitly gets more looks than the M3, but it is not something I would want as my only mode of transportation. The M3 (my 3rd, which I just picked up today, incidentally) is fun to drive, cheaper to mod, cheaper to maintain, and has more comforts when used as a daily driver. I am also quite a bit more-confident racking up the miles on an M3 than I would be with my porsche.

Depends if this is a daily driver or just a weekend car.

Between those 2 i'd pick the M3. But if you were to step up to a 964 or 933, i'd pick the 911.

two completely different cars. drive many examples of both and decide for yourself.

Depends if it's a turbo 911 or not. You can get away with more in BMW. 911's are like bear claws to cops, they can't resest them
