Is anyone else scared of the Bangle designed 3 series?

With the E46 on it's way out is anyone else worried that Chris Bangle will kill it's looks like he did with the five series, which IMO looks like a botched facelift that only Jone Rivers could love.

Bangle was part designer of the current 3 series... are you scared to look at an E46?

There are a few spy shots out there (which you can search for) that show that the E90 is not going to look all that different, when compared to the changed on the 5 and the 7. There is a wider grill on the 3 than I would like, but apart from that, it looks pretty much the same.

the actual brochure is getting around the net in pdf format. i've got it so if anyone wants a copy drop me a pm with your email and i'll send it unless i get heaps of requests then someone will have to host it somewhere. it definately looks a lot more german/european than their last few attempts. i like it. in the brochure (its in german) they mention the 330i, 325i, 320i, and 320d, but the 318i doesn't crack a mention, neither does the m3..... and all the others are inline 6's apart from the 320d with is a turbo diesel.... duh....

I'm quite excited about the new 3 series, mostly because my mother and i held off on buying a current generation 330 to wait for the new models to come out (will hold better resale right? since they are the new models). She loves the 7 and 5 series styling to death and i love the new 330's power output 255hp right? But what would be best, is if the M2 came here.

The only Bangle BMW that I like is the 6 series. But by the way the new 3 series is looking maybe he relized that alot of people were not happy with the direction he was taking BMW. I am relived at the new 3, it's not my fav but it could have been much worse.

bangle has designed a hell of a lot of bm's that people don't know about. they only mention the ones that they don't like, eg 5 and 7 series.

of the main one's he's designed i have to say that the 7 has grown on me a lot.... don't know if i'd buy one but thats just becuase i don't really want a big luxo barge. the 5 hasn't grown on me that much and i defiantely think some colours look absolutely crapola on it.

but the z4 i like. looks horn, and like they said on top gear, "you sit way back over the rear axel with a long bonet sticking out the front. i don't car what you read into that..... feels great."

the 1 i quite like. havn't gone down and had a drive yet but give me a few weeks and it'll happen. sounds like its an absolute ripper to drive but i bit down in the power stakes.... just wait for the 125i and we'll be happy.

and as for bangle moving away from bmw, last i heard he had moved across to mercedes?..... did anyone else hear that news?

that looks like a photochop of the e90 3 series from the leaked brochure. some of the lines look a bit crook and other parts don't quite sit right... other parts are just wrong. they won't be official photos anyway becuase as far as i know the photos of the 3 series aren't even supposed to be out yet.... bmw was blowing fuses when that brochure got leaked onto the net.

They moved Bangle into an upper level management position (design side.) He manages it, but doesn't draw it.

I just found this picture crusing edmunds, i haven't seen it posted anywhere before, hope it isn't a repost. I still think the new 3 series will be amazing (especially since it'll be putting out 15 more horses then the e36 M3!)

by the way, doesnt the first picture bavbrwlr put up look a bit like an M? with the quad exhaust, and mini gills. It could pass for an M2!!

They scrapped the idea of the 2 and 4 series as well... there is just going to be a 3 series
