if you know anyone with a garage and a spring compressor you could do it yourself in like 45 min. also before you do it make sure you really want to lower it. most of my friends who have lowered their cars wish they hadn't and are too lazy to change it back

If you are going to lower the car i would suggest getting better shocks. Koni or Bilstein both make great shocks.

Another thing to remember.... after you lower it... your camber and toe-in adjustments will all be off. You'll need to get your car re-aligned or else you'll be eating through tires, miss-wearing them, and getting un-even tread-wear patterns. (try telling that to these rice-rocket kids that lower their cars and never re-align it.. and then cry when they have to buy new tires every year).

Slowering springs won't help handling much without a good shock/strut.
if you put stiffer springs, you will wear out your stock shocks/struts much quicker.

I would recommend new stuts/shocks, with upgraded RSM (rear shock mounts)

labour: it took my friend and I about 5-6 hours for all around. expect to pay about ~4hours * shop labour cost/hour

all i want to do is make my car a little lower. so u cant see the top of the tires. so if i get those springs that i showed in the first thread, will that make my car handle worse? i dont want to put a bunch of money into this, so can i just put the springs in. i mean i only drive this car on the weekends anyway.

Your not getting what they are telling you..if you just put the springs in..you will eventually need to replace the shocks becuz the stiffer springs will wear them out..so you might as well get better shocks so you dont have worry about them later. As far as cost find out the hourly rate of a shop n multiply by 4-5 hours.

Even small things will cost more on a BMW, if you want to do it right listen to the guys who have done it. It's better then running though tires and killing your handling
