Gumball 3000

I just got my hands on the documentary style film, Gumball 3000 (2003) in the USA. I was wondering when it might be happening in the USA again. I have my '85 325e and the damn thing is never gonna run down. I figure how much of a trip would it be to take that old thing and kill the cocky yuppies who buy these cars only really meant to run 10k miles in its life time. Any news, please let me know.

There are lots of Rallies, the Cannonball is more of a tuner/driver rally.
The GBAll is more of a glamour cruize.

GBall is for celebs and a waste of time for regular, if you say, drivers. Or people that are looking for fun. I personally cannot stand GBall rally considering that "cool" guy from MTV, Bam Margera(he's a punk) has to come in and make it that so called "celebs" come in I mean he had a 360 Modena so he calls himself a driver? And then Tony Hawk, also known as Bam's BITCH?? What the hell I mean he's an awesome skateboarder but come on this stuff should be for serious "ralliers" so that we the fans can enjoy it. I don't know may I'm just blow hot air but I can't stand that Bam Guy. But you'll know what I mean??

Thanks, screw the celeb thing...i'm more about the hardcore driver skill like driving a 20 hr shift and adding an extra fuel tank to extend the range to 800mi per tank.

I was just saying I hate how this has become glamourized instead of having the real "drivers".

I don't know about Bam, but I did get to meet Ryan Dunn at an autocross that the Philly SCCA held. He was very down to earth, and he is a total car guy. He was there with a BMW Z4 that had some work done to it, but nothing major. He was sponsored by a BMW dealership in Pennsylvania, and had a pro driving instructor that he was driving with. I have to say he is a very good driver, and placed 5th out of 11 in the B-stock class. First place went to the instructor he was with, and he was less than a second out of second place. He didn't try to make a scene out of him being there, and was just a regular autocrosser. I'm glad I got the chance to meet him.
