timers, i have mine mounted infront of the rear view mirror, with just the rear radar sensor sticking out to the right... and then the remote display placed in my center console.

M///_Wraith: just a lil fyi, CrownVic's top out at 156-158 , they WILL catch you... but in CA they aren't allowed to start a highspeed chase for a traffic violation... although i think 82 over the limit is a little more than a traffic violation

Dado, how come I remember seeing all those tickets on your wall, and off-topic, but were you in that Cops special. I remember someone saying you would be, but then I forgot about it all, you have ne video of it. Can you guys post some pics of ur setup. If Dado uses it, I got to get it. . Heeheh

I was thinking about getting one too, but then I read a review somewhere that said it was weak in the Ka band compared to new Bel & Escorts. I'll probably still end up getting one eventually though. I'm also curious if anyone has gotten a speeding ticket w/a V1.

Oh, I did not know that. Oh well, all I really want to know is does it work for speed, and has anyone ever got caught with it? Is there a fine if ur caught with it, and are they mad illegal in california?

its totally legal in Cali, its just a radar detector, not a jammer or anything...

and on the one trip that i've taken following a friend w/ a Escort 8500 my V1 detected Ka before his twice(both when going up a hill, the cop was at the bottom of the other side of the hill)...

just remember, nothing will save you from Instant on and laser, and if a cop sees you fly past him, he will inevitably either call ahead, or hit the lights on ya!
