BMW STEP training program Q's Have any of you guys gone through or attempted to join the BMW STEP training program? I know it is very difficult to get in, but it is basically my dream after i graduate college next May. I plan on going to Lincoln Tech in MD for the ASE and they have the STEP program there (1 of 8 locations in the country). If any of you have some input about it, hints, praises or grievances, please share!!

marafITALY, cool! im actually attending lincoln tech in MD to get into the BMW STEP program, started on 08/04, im still in intro, are you? anyway to get into the STEP program is my dream also. after graduating from it, 3 years later as an elite BMW master technician you should be making $100,000 to $120,000 a year, i cant wait. to show you how tough the program is only TWO people in the WORLD do the acceptance interviews for the program, that just goes to show you how consistent they want the students ASEs help, you need 100% attendence here at LTI, you cannot miss a single day. and your GPA must be 3.8 or better. good luck to you.

| u dont make that much after 3 years, its only something like 40,000 or something right off the bat, and idk about 3 years to become a master tech. cause u enter as a level one and have to work your way up.

well put it this way guys, when you get out of STEP you will be 20,21,22 years old, single and making about $40k to start off. That aint bad at all! the only way you can go from there is up right? Master techs make $70k+ a year. I dont care how much I make, I just like wrenching on them. Do something you like and you will be happy to go to work everyday. If I dont get into STEP then Ill be going for MB.

yep, it only goes up from there. i also was going to go to MB if i couldn't get into STEP, similar money - much easier than bmw, apparently bmw is the hardest apprenticeship type deal offered by a manufacturer by far
