Euro E36

i was just wondering something. the euro m3 has 321hp in a 3.2L engine which is pretty impressive. i was just wondering why is it so hard to modify a 3.2 m3 engine to get those numbers. i know they changed some stuff for the US version to meet certain regulations, but why is it so hard to undo what they have already done.

There are plenty of topics if you simply run a search.

Or better yet, hop on Google and do a quick search. You'll find more than you need to know.

BMW did not just change "some stuff" for the U.S. version M3s. U.S. M3s have completely different powertrains. They're more like a bored/stroked version of the 325/328 engines than the Euro engine, which is a totally different beast.
